Abstract

The objective of this essay is to analyze how the Bermellón Espacio Creativo initiative configures an autonomous cultural management practice through manual making. The methodology used is Arts-Based Research (ABR), featuring participant observation and testimonies from 32 people in itinerant workshops held in Cali, Colombia (2023-2025). The results indicate that bookbinding and stamp engraving act as self-representation devices that challenge formal knowledge hierarchies. It is concluded that the artisanal craft, managed independently, promotes empowerment and identity, consolidating itself as a model of sensitive and transformative cultural management in local contexts.
