AI Usage Policy

Córima, Journal of Research in Cultural Management, establishes that the use of generative artificial intelligence tools must be governed by principles of transparency, human responsibility, confidentiality, and academic rigor. The journal does not recognize artificial intelligence systems as authors, co-authors, or responsible parties for the content of a manuscript.

Scope This policy applies to authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial team. Its purpose is to ensure that all decisions, arguments, interpretations, reviews, and academic evaluations remain attributable to human beings.

Permitted Use Artificial intelligence tools may only be used as auxiliary support for low academic risk tasks, such as spelling correction, style improvement, translation, clarity adjustment, or non-substantive technical support. In all cases, final responsibility for the text, its sources, arguments, and accuracy lies exclusively with the authors.

Prohibited Use Artificial intelligence may not be used to generate, in whole or in part, substantive content of the manuscript, such as theoretical frameworks, interpretation of results, discussion, conclusions, bibliographic references, or research data. It is also prohibited to fabricate, alter, or simulate results, images, tables, figures, or citations using AI tools.

Mandatory Declaration Any use of artificial intelligence beyond spelling or grammatical correction must be explicitly declared in the manuscript. The declaration must specify at least the name of the tool used, the purpose of its use, and the scope of its intervention in the work. When no artificial intelligence tool has been used, authors must state this explicitly.

Authorship Responsibility Authors are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating any content supported by artificial intelligence, including data, citations, references, tables, figures, and translations. The inclusion of false, inaccurate, or unverifiable information generated with AI constitutes a breach of academic integrity.

Peer Review and Confidentiality Reviewers must not upload manuscripts, annexes, tables, or figures into generative artificial intelligence tools, due to confidentiality obligations and the protection of content under evaluation. If a reviewer uses AI solely to improve the wording of their report, they must ensure that this does not compromise the confidentiality of the manuscript or the independence of their evaluation.

Editorial Use The editorial team may use technological tools for administrative or technical support functions, provided they do not replace human decision-making or compromise the confidentiality of the editorial process. Any technological support used by the journal must be validated and supervised by individuals responsible for the editorial process.

Non-Compliance Undeclared, inappropriate, or misleading use of artificial intelligence tools may be considered an ethical violation and may result in manuscript rejection, suspension of the editorial process, correction, retraction, or other measures in accordance with the journal’s code of ethics. Each case will be evaluated based on the nature of the intervention, the degree of impact on the content, and its effect on academic integrity.

Córima adopts this policy to preserve human authorship, the traceability of academic work, and trust in its editorial processes. Its application is mandatory for all participants in the publication process.
