Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

Córima, Journal of Research in Cultural Management, maintains the integrity of its editorial record by publishing corrections, retractions, and, when necessary, expressions of concern. These measures are used to amend substantive errors, warn readers about serious reliability issues, or inform the academic community about possible effects on an article’s validity.

Corrections

A correction will be published when an article contains errors that affect the accuracy of the text but do not compromise its overall conclusions or the substantial reliability of its results. This may include errors in names, affiliations, bibliographic data, figures, tables, captions, funding information, or wording that must be amended for clarity and precision.

The correction will be published as a note linked to the original article and will remain accessible to readers. The corrected article will remain available and clearly associated with the correction notice.

Retractions

A retraction will be issued when there is sufficient evidence that the article contains serious errors, academic misconduct, or any circumstance that substantially invalidates its conclusions. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or manipulation, altered images, unverified authorship, or serious breaches of ethical obligations.

The retraction will be published visibly and linked to the original article, which will remain accessible on the journal website and clearly marked as retracted. The retraction notice will state the general reason for the decision and the editorial body responsible for issuing it.

Expression of Concern

The journal may publish an expression of concern when there is a serious question about the integrity, accuracy, or reliability of an article, but insufficient evidence is available to issue a final correction or retraction. This notice will remain visible while the editorial review or investigation is underway.

Editorial Procedure

Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern may be requested by authors, readers, reviewers, or the editorial team itself. The journal will assess each case based on the available evidence, the severity of the issue, and the principles of academic integrity and editorial transparency.

When necessary, the editorial team may request clarifications from the authors, review supporting documentation, or consult external specialists before making a decision. The journal will seek to resolve these cases diligently, objectively, and without undue delay.

Publication Principles

Post-publication actions are not intended to conceal errors, but to preserve the scholarly record and inform readers about the reliability of the text. Therefore, the journal will not ordinarily remove published articles; instead, it will keep the original text visible and clearly labeled as appropriate.

Relationship with Other Policies

This policy complements Córima’s policies on plagiarism, conflict of interest, artificial intelligence, peer review, and editorial ethics. When the issue detected relates to any of those areas, the journal will apply the editorial measures that correspond to the severity of the case.

Córima reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern whenever necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly literature and trust in its editorial process.
