Code of Ethics

Córima, Revista de Investigación en Gestión Cultural adheres to principles of integrity, transparency, responsibility, confidentiality, and academic rigor in all stages of its editorial process. This code establishes the responsibilities of authors, editors, editorial committee members, and reviewers, with the purpose of safeguarding scientific quality and honesty in academic communication.

The journal evaluates manuscripts based on their originality, thematic pertinence, clarity, methodological solidity, and contribution to the field of Cultural Management, without discrimination based on nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, institutional affiliation, political position, or any other condition unrelated to academic merit.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must present original, unpublished works not simultaneously submitted to another journal. Any idea, data, image, table, figure, or fragment taken from other sources must be properly cited and, when applicable, have the necessary authorization for its use.

Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the information presented, the integrity of the data, and the correct attribution of authorship. Data manipulation, fabrication of results, plagiarism, autoplagiarism, redundant publication, and any form of improper attribution constitute unacceptable practices.

Authors must declare conflicts of interest, funding sources, and any circumstances that may influence the interpretation of results or the presentation of the manuscript.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Team

The editorial team must guarantee fair, objective, and confidential decisions, based exclusively on academic quality, thematic pertinence, and compliance with the journal's editorial standards. Likewise, it must safeguard the confidentiality of received manuscripts and avoid any conflict of interest that may compromise editorial independence.

The journal commits to maintaining clear procedures for evaluation, acceptance or rejection of manuscripts, as well as for the correction of substantive errors, the issuance of retractions, and the attention of complaints or appeals when necessary. The editorial team will also seek to act diligently in the face of possible suspicions of academic or editorial misconduct.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts with objectivity, respect, confidentiality, and critical sense. If there is a conflict of interest, a previous collaboration relationship, or any other circumstance that affects their impartiality, they must refrain from issuing a review.

Reviews must be supported by clear, pertinent, and respectful arguments, oriented to strengthen the academic quality of the text. The information obtained during evaluation is confidential and cannot be used for personal, academic, or professional benefit.

Conflicts of Interest

Every person involved in the editorial process must declare any real or potential conflict of interest that may affect, or appear to affect, their judgment or independence. When a conflict exists, the corresponding person must refrain from participating in the review or editorial decision of the manuscript.

Unacceptable Conducts

Conducts contrary to this code include plagiarism, autoplagiarism, falsification or fabrication of data, manipulation of references, substitution of authorship, biased review, violation of confidentiality, and any attempt to improperly influence editorial evaluation.

The detection of these practices may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or other pertinent editorial measures, according to the gravity of the case and the journal's policies.

Complaints, Clarifications, and Corrections

Córima will diligently attend to complaints, observations, and requests related to possible ethical faults or editorial bad practices. When substantive errors are identified in a published text, the journal will seek to correct them with opportunity and visibility; if the failure compromises the validity or integrity of the work, the procedure will follow the corrections and retractions policy.

Reference Framework

This code is inspired by the good publication ethics practices promoted by COPE and by the editorial transparency principles adopted by open access academic journals. Its compliance is mandatory for all persons who participate in the editorial process of Córima.
