About the Journal

Córima, Revista de Investigación en Gestión Cultural (Córima, Journal of Research in Cultural Management) is a semiannual online publication, with diamond open access and free consultation, edited by the Universidad de Guadalajara through the Centro Universitario de Guadalajara (CUGDL). The journal began its publication in 2016 and aims to disseminate unpublished research and contribute to the development, professionalization, and academic rigor of Cultural Management and its fields of knowledge and practice.

It publishes original works in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, subjected to double-blind peer review, as well as unpublished translations of works of relevance and broad reception in the scientific community in their original language. Its main audience is integrated by researchers, faculty, professionals, students, cultural agents, and persons interested in critical reflection, academic production, and intervention in the field of Cultural Management.

Córima prioritizes contributions linked to knowledge generation in Cultural Management and, complementarily, receives related proposals whose thematic pertinence is evaluated according to its editorial policies and review processes. Among the topics it addresses are cultural policies, cultural heritage, cultural diversity, culture economy, cultural financing, cultural and creative industries, cultural publics and consumption, management of cultural institutions, cultural tourism, cultural law, cultural diplomacy, artistic and cultural creation, culture communication, cyberculture, digital culture, training and professionalization in cultural management, cultural networks, history and epistemes of Cultural Management, cultural dissemination, artistic mediation, cultural participation, cultural governance, and university extension.

Types of Works Received

The journal receives three main types of unpublished and original works:

  • Research articles: texts derived from theoretical, empirical, or applied research processes, presenting original results, systematic data analysis, critical discussion, and verifiable contributions to the field of Cultural Management and related areas.

  • Argumentative essays: texts of reflective and critical nature that develop a grounded position on topics, debates, approaches, or processes relevant to Cultural Management, with pertinent bibliographic support and solid academic argumentation.

  • Systematization of experiences: texts that analyze, interpret, and critically reconstruct a professional, institutional, community, or training experience linked to Cultural Management, with the purpose of understanding and making visible learnings, findings, limits, and projections useful for the field.

Administrative reports, opinion essays, journalistic articles, or project protocols are not considered for publication. The thematic pertinence, academic quality, and originality of each proposal are evaluated according to the editorial policies and review process in force.

Journal Periodicity

The journal is edited with a fixed semiannual periodicity, publishing each issue in the months of January and July.

The name Córima comes from a word in the Rarámuri or Tarahumara language of the homonymous community in northern Mexico, and refers to a traditional institution of mutual aid or to the solidary action of sharing as social responsibility.
